PROGRAMMING A SATELLITE:
As an example we'll program the GE-1 satellite. First though you must first decide what you want to name it. The majority of satellite guides are referring to it as W1. W1 can be used as a satellite designator for this satellite by programming it as a "custom satellite". However, since there isn't a "W" button on the keypad of the remote control, you would not be able to direct access W1, instead you would have to press the SAT button and cursor across to W1 and then press ENTERto access it. Therefore, you may want to name the satellite something that can be directly accessed. For our purposes here, let's program it as W1.

  • Move your system to satellite S4, Ch 19 (Confirm the picture as Cornerstone WPCB), bump the West button until you lose the picture then stop. This is the approx location for GE-1.
  • Enter the program mode by turning the receiver OFF then press and hold the CHANNEL UP button while turning the receiver ON. This procedure must be done at the receiver (not via remote control). The display should blink and the PROGRAM / INSTALL menu should appear on the screen. Press 3 (PROGRAM SATELLITE), press 1 (ADD SATELLITE), press SAT once. Press the Up/Down fine tune buttons to select W, press the RIGHT fine tune button once (causing the second digit to blink), press Up/Down fine tune buttons to select 1, press CANCEL.
  • You should have a split screen entitled ADD SATELLITE. The channel should be 19, the satellite should be SAT: W1, the format should be FORMAT: V. If the picture is good, clear, etc. press ENTER and keep depressed until the display says SAT STORED. If the picture is not clear or if you do not have the correct picture for the channel selected, press the RIGHT fine tune button until the SKEW number is blinking. Use the Up/Down fine tune buttons to adjust the skew. Adjust until you have the correct and clear picture. Press CANCEL two times.
  • You should now be at the PROGRAM / INSTALL menu. Turn the satellite receiver OFF, and then turn it back ON. Use a current satellite chart to confirm you are on the right satellite.

TUNING ADJUSTMENTS:
If the satellite is just off from it's normal position (wind can do this). Press the ON/OFF and CHANNEL UP buttons on the receivers front panel until the front panel display flashes. Press 3 (Program Satellites). If at any time the receiver asks for a password, enter the four digit code (1124 or 1324 accordingly). Press 4
(RECALL SATELLITES), use the East or West arrows to move then adjust for best picture When the correct satellite is relocated hold the ENTER button until SAT STORED is shown, press CANCEL until the PROGRAM / INSTALL menu is shown. Turn the satellite receiver OFF and then turn it back. Press CANCEL.
